Quéfer: A Family Story

Quefer - Claude Petit - Laser cutting - CNC bending - powder painting - machining - Montreal - Montérigie

1979

Quéfer as founded in 1979 by Claude Petit in a small shop that specialized in furniture hardware. The company quickly moved to larger quarters in Saint-Pie, where a factory twice the size of the initial location could satisfy the increasing demands of customers.

In addition to stamping, bending, cutting and finishing of metallic components, Quéfer began producing parts for ventilation, transportation and telecommunications.

1980 – 1987

A few years later, in 1987, Quéfer purchased a property in the Saint-Pie industrial park with the intent to build its own factory. The founder’s daughter, Pascale Petit, joined the family concern during this period of expansion.

Quéfer’s reliability, professionalism and personalized client services eventually paid off. Over the years, three expansions have been completed to meet the demands of an ever more numerous customer base.

1996 – 2001

In the meantime, Claude Petit’s two children, Marc-André and Isabelle, joined the family enterprise to contribute their expertise and take on new responsibilities.

2009

To better compete with Asia, Quéfer undertook major technological changes in 2009. A million dollars were invested in the purchase of new equipment, a metal-cutting machine and a new press brake.

Today, Quéfer has acquired a second laser and has 6 press brakes, a powder coat department and a welding department. Thanks to its experienced team, spread over 3 shifts, Quéfer produces parts and equipment 7 days a week.

Customers come to Quéfer from all over Canada to benefit from superior-quality production and rapid personalized service that’s unparalleled in its reliability.
