Quéfer prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary by adding strings to his bow.
In 1980, when Claude Petit founded his metal component manufacturing company, in St-Liboire,Québec, he already had 18 years experience in the field and produced 12 500 units per week in a small makeshift studio. Today under the leadership of his son, Marc-André Petit, Quéfer Inc. is a leading manufacturer in its field in the province of Quebec.
The company prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary under the sign of a significant diversification. By adding strings to his bow, Quefer is taking another step in its growth.
A leading manufacturer of metal parts
Since the mid-1980s, the company was established in the industrial park of St-Pie, Quebec. In its plant of 30 000 square feet, it produces more than 4 000 different pieces, small and medium sizes, which are intended for the office furniture industry as brackets, hinges, connecting plates, table legs, inner drawers and shelves. "From the drawings submitted by the client, Quéfer performs all operations of metal processing, from cutting parts in sheet steel with numerical control machines to finished product. We also offer the services of metal stamping, tubular products and electrostatic powder paint, "explains Marc-André Petit, who's been working in the business for 12 years and took over last year.
A judicious diversification
To remain competitive in a market where Chinese products are present, Quéfer began two years ago a wise diversification of its products, enabling it to meet the needs from other manufacturing sectors. And thanks to high-performance equipment, the company continues to "offer the best product that is on the market", according to the mission that has been founded.
Offer of new services
"We have made major investments in the acquisition of high technology machinery that perform CNC cutting and bending service (Computer Numerical Controlled). These are the latest models on the market, which have just come out. "This equipment will increase the accuracy, saving time and reducing costs resulting therefore in providing a finished product of the highest quality and best value for the money. Quéfer will anwser to the market demand with performance and efficiency. "We also orient toward new materials like aluminum and stainless steel to produce a wider variety of parts", said Marc-André Petit
Diversification of markets
While continuing to manufacture products for office furniture, Quéfer has diversified its markets to move to other niches such as transport, ventilation, telecommunications, lighting, electronics and machinery parts
